Palm Springs and the Indian Canyons
The Indian Canyons are close to Palm Springs and situated off the South Palm Canyon Drive. This is a wonderful area to explore and quite a find, something different to the surrounding spartan and arid desert, very lush, particularly at Palm Canyon. There were lots of big palm trees and pretty little streams winding their way through the landscape. Andreas Canyon is very close to Palm Canyon and both are equally impressive. You should allow at least a couple of hours to visit this area, and will probably find yourself staying much longer. Make sure you bring lots to drink, because it can get hot.

Driving around Palm Springs
There are number of good ways to see the best bits of Palm Springs. We choose to hire a car and drove around most of the time to the main sights. We also made sure that we had a ride of the Aerial Tramway, at the Mount San Jacinto National Park. The views across the Coachella Valley were great. We were advised to go later in the afternoon, when it wouldn't be quite so hot, or indeed so busy. That turned out to be good advice.
